The IV St Petersburg International Cultural Forum is taking place on December 14–16, 2015. Every year the forum brings together experts in culture, politicians, representatives of state bodies and business people, and this year’s event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session of the IV St Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky opened the exhibition "The territory of Culture" in Marble Hall of Russian Museum of Ethnography. The main purpose of the exhibition “The territory of Culture” is to demonstrate modern achievements of Russia in the sphere of culture, to introduce them as constantly developing project as well as to show the audience “the way to the future” with the denotation of cultural development directions in 2016.
Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhuravsky noted that more than 10 thousand people have registered for the various events and 5 thousand of them have already received their accreditation cards: «We have received applications for accreditation from 79 countries. 46 official delegations of the Ministries of Culture have already arrived in St. Petersburg. More than 250 events are held at a various venues of the city, one third of those - cultural program. They will be attended by the guests of the Forum, and St. Petersburg citizens».
Zhuravsky mentioned: «The Cultural Forum this year has caused an increased interest among city residents».
It is to add that today five city museums opened their doors specially for St. Petersburg citizens and city guests who were not registered as participants at the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. A new program includes free admission to theaters and museums. Alexander Zhuravsky said: «We provide the participants with free access to 25 museums and donate tickets to theater performances. The excitement with which we have faced, demonstrates the great attention and interest of the residents of the northern capital to the cultural life of the city».
