“We made proposals on implementing a ceasefire, quite specific ones. We are waiting for a US response before putting them before the International Syria Support Group,” Sergey Lavrov said.
Earlier on Thursday, writes TASS, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on the plans for declaring ceasefire in the war-torn Syria on March 1. In comments to media reports that Russia suggests declaring ceasefire in Syria on March 1, Peskov urged to avoid speculation on the issue and wait for the official statements.
"The process is very fragile, discussions are under way, one can't speak about unanimity in the process of a Syrian settlement,"the spokesman for Russia’s president told reporters during a conference call.
