Automation, digitalization and robotization have become part of the life of almost every person. Automation, digitalization and robotization have become part of the life of almost every person. More and more companies are trying to automate both their production and their products as much as possible. This has become an everyday thing, but there are often concepts such as artificial intelligence and intelligent automation, which until recently appeared only in the books of science fiction writers.

The introduction of new technologies has led to a global change in the labor market. Not everyone has time to adjust to the innovations, and therefore a large stratum of society has to realize themselves in new directions and learn to live in modern realities.

The world community is already puzzled by the issue of maintaining the balance of human resources and the use of artificial intelligence.

This topic was actively discussed at the International Youth Summer School, which took place in Reykjavik, Iceland. This year's theme is «Future Skills for Workplace Sustainability: Preparing for Transition». Experts, speakers and young people from different countries gathered to discuss this challenge facing the entire society.

One of the speakers at the event was Theodoor Van der Klauw, a specialist in IT, artificial intelligence and the implementation of the Internet of Things.

Theodoor thinks that in the modern world, human resources are expensive investments in business. What several people do for a certain amount of time, artificial intelligence can accomplish faster and more cost-effectively. For example, people can do their job well, but they have human needs that take up time anyway. This is not profitable for business, therefore, artificial intelligence and automation are used in many areas.

Huge sums are being invested in the development of artificial intelligence - the UK has invested more than one billion dollars in intelligent automation in just six months of 2019.

Artificial intelligence and intelligent automation at the current level of development is being implemented in many areas of business and production. For example, in the structuring and analysis of large amounts of information, chat bots are used for faster customers serve, as well as Internet journalists who can quickly analyze information and create news agendas according to the parameters laid down in them. In this regard, there is no need to use human labor to provide and prepare information.

In addition, artificial intelligence will be able to recognize and analyze faces online in the near future, which will help law enforcement agencies in search activities. Earlier, representatives of the CIA said that about 150 projects related to artificial intelligence are in their development.

However, automated systems cannot exist separately from a person, and therefore the business will have to retrain employees into specialists involved in system maintenance.

An expert at the International Youth Summer School believes that the balance between the areas that artificial intelligence will replace and jobs will be respected. It will be observed by the people themselves. Automation is not designed to take work away from people, it was created in order to facilitate it and, thanks to its accelerated processes, achieve the set goals in the shortest possible time. Digitization frees up time for people to do what the computer cannot do, leaving it all the routine work.

The use of intelligent automation is still questionable due to ethical standards because it can also be used for purposes that pose a danger to people, from espionage to military operations. For example, drones have been actively used by the military for several years, saving the lives of soldiers, but the commands for these aircraft are given by people who can use them for their own personal interests.

There are also unfortunate examples of the use of artificial intelligence. When large companies such as Google and Facebook knew that their voice assistants, after analyzing information from the Internet, in addition to their main tasks, called for unethical actions or offended users. Such "assistants" are quickly turned off and reprogrammed.

Theodoor Van der Klauw notes that many think that Artificial Intelligence will soon replace most of human actions for us, but this requires many more years of development of science and technology.
