LONDON24 informs - everything you need to know:

The London New Year’s Day Parade is a spectacular event every year, with performers from all over the world showing their talent on the capital’s streets to around 100,000 people. Here’s our guide with all the information about the day.

The parade begins at 12pm.

The day will end at around 3.30pm.
The route and festivities will kick off at midday on January 1 at Piccadilly Circus.

Things will come to a close at Westminster.
More than 8,500 performers representing 20 countries worldwide will assemble for the 2016 Parade, which will be filled with marching bands, cheerleaders, clowns, acrobats and more. The parade will wind its way along Piccadilly, down Regent Street, pass along Pall Mall, enter Trafalgar Square and then head to Whitehall.
Hundreds of groups will participate and, as usual, a large amount of money will be raised for charity.

There will be huge crowds, but as long as you stick together this can be an exciting and eye-opening experience for small people.
