On 5 November 2018, the first day of the exhibition, the stand of the Russian capital attracted a lot of attention from the press and travel industry professionals from all over the world. During the Press Conference, a speaker of the Moscow City Tourism Department made a presentation about new opportunities for tourists from the UK.

Moscow is one of the largest business centers in Europe. It holds the first place among the world’s fastest developing cities in the world rankings. Over the past few years, the Moscow government has been paying particular attention to the development of tourist infrastructure and the promotion of the Russian capital as a modern and competitive city in both domestic and international travel markets.

Over the past few years, Moscow has seen an annual growth of tourists arriving from all over Russia, Europe, the USA and other countries of the world. In 2017, 21.6 million tourists came to Moscow, and by the end of 2018, the tourist flow is expected to increase by at least 10%.

Moscow is also one of the largest cultural centers in the world. Every year over 270 cultural and entertainment events take place in the Russian capital. During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the ‘Journey to Christmas’ festival takes place at different venues of the capital. A lot of musicians and artists participate in it, and the city transforms into a real fairy-tale place. Guests can enjoy performances by Russian and European theatres in wonderfully decorated scenes, try New Year treats of the Russian cuisine, and take part in street performances and workshops.

One third of Moscow is a park zone. In 2017, a new park Zaryadye was opened in the heart of the capital, and it was included by The Time Magazine in the list of ‘The best places in the world 2018’.

Today there are 1,646 comfortable places of accommodation in Moscow, including hotels and hostels which can satisfy any customer. The cost of affordable places to stay there starts from £12. The transport infrastructure is widely developed, tourists can choose a convenient way to travel. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.
