The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation confirms that three Russian nationals suspected of links with ISIS were detained by Turkish law enforcement agencies on January 11 in Antalya.

«According to the police report, the detained individuals refused to make contact with representatives of the Russian consulate. The Russian diplomatic mission in Turkey is making efforts to ensure access to the Russian citizens and clarify all circumstances of what happened», the Information and Press Department commented on January 13.

An explosion occurred on January 12 in Istanbul, killing 10 while wounding at least 15. According to reports by private broadcaster CNN Türk, the explosion occurred by the obelisk of Theodosius in the touristic Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul’s Fatih district.
The Telegraph reports that Turkish officials said the attack was carried out by a 28-year-old Syrian member of Isil. "We have determined that the perpetrator of the attack is a foreigner who is a member of Daesh," said Ahmet Davutoğlu, Turkey's prime minister.
