Russian president Vladimir Putin was asked a question about his daughters at his news conference.
Reuters reported: «According to the website of Moscow State University, Ekaterina Tikhonova (Putin’s daughter?) is attached to the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty. Under the name Tikhonova, she is listed as an author, along with other academics, of a chapter in a maths text book and at least six scientific papers since 2011. The papers include studies on medicines and space travel; one is listed as a study of how the human body reacts to zero gravity».
Vladimir Putin said: "My daughters live in Russia. They have never been educated anywhere except Russia. I am proud of them, they continue to study and are working. They speak three European languages fluently. They are taking the first steps in their careers, and are making good progress. They are not involved in business or politics… they have never been 'star' children and have never enjoyed being in the spotlight. They simply live their lives and do it with great dignity. Every person has a right for their fate".
To remember:
Officially Vladimir Putin has two daughters - Maria and Katerina.
