Youth Time International Movement invites journalists, bloggers and vloggers to take part in the “Media information and literacy” event, which will be held from August 27 to September 2, 2021 in Belgrade, Serbia.
Not only reporters of official media will be able to become participants of the event, but also bloggers creating content on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other Internet places.
Information literacy in the modern world becomes the same necessary as written. Especially the relevance of this issue was noticeable against the background of disinformation around the news about COVID-19 and the corresponding vaccination.
Media literacy will make it easier to navigate the gigabytes of information pouring into people in a dense stream from TV, radio and, of course, the Internet. Even an experienced media figure cannot always understand where is the lie and where is the truth.
As part of the event, under the start of the Erasmus + program, which brought together more than 50 experts and speakers, seminars, master classes and lectures will be held, which will raise sensitive issues of disinformation, fake news and media literacy.
All guests will receive practical skills, knowledge and experience in the field of information literacy, which will serve as a solid foundation for future work and expand the horizons of knowledge. This is a unique opportunity to communicate with like-minded people from all over the world, share culture, thoughts and experiences.
Important requirement: Participants of the “Media information and literacy” must publish at least four materials about the event. In addition, one of the selection criteria is fluency in English. There is also an age limit: 18-35 years.
In order to apply, you should:
- Fill out the online form on the event website,
- Send examples of your previous work,
- Provide a letter confirming that the materials on the event will be published in your media.
Invited journalists and bloggers will be able to receive full or partial funding for their participation.
All participants will have the opportunity to chat with speakers, interview, write articles or shoot videos about master classes and seminars.
The application must be submitted by July 10, 2021.
