On Monday, the foreign ministers of 28 EU member-countries have reached an agreement at a meeting in Brussels on five principles in relations with Russia.
"[EU] High representative [for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini] made public five principles the European Union should be guided by in its relations with Russia," the diplomat said.
Sputnik informs that the source, who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity, detailed the five principles as follows:
A full implementation of the Minsk ceasefire agreement in eastern Ukraine as a condition for any changes in EU policy toward Russia; bolstering EU ties with its eastern partners; strengthening the EU’s resilience; maintaining exclusively EU interests in any kind of engagement with Russia; engaging in people-to-people contact and supporting civil society in Russia.
It was added that all the top diplomats had voiced support for the principles listed by Mogherini.
According to TASS, Mogherini will announce the principle states at the final news conference on Monday.
