"A total of 18 people are being questioned now," the source said. "According to the preliminary data, some of the detainees were staying in Russia illegally."
The Moscow Times informs referring the source that the suspects — most of whom have been identified as Uzbek nationals — were arrested during a raid carried out by the police and the Federal Security Service. During the raid, the police seized a number of fake identification documents from different countries, including Turkey, according to the source.
Earlier in February, the Interior Ministry busted a ring of people who had forged passports for people traveling to and from Syria.
