Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet the heads of the Russian space industry and hold a video conference with the International Space Station to mark Cosmonautics Day on Tuesday, Sputnik informed on Monday.
"The President will mark Cosmonautics Day, April 12, by meeting with the heads of Russia’s space sector and taking part in a direct linkup between the International Space Station and the Vostochny space launch center," the Kremlin said in a statement.
According to TASS, during the video link, the president will congratulate the cosmonauts on their professional holiday. He will also hear the reports of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Igor Komarov, the head of the Russian State Corporation Roscosmos, on development of Russian cosmonautics.
Later on Tuesday evening, the Russian leader will also attend a concert devoted to the 55th anniversary of man’s first flight into outer space.
